Abdominal Burning sensation due to Hyperacidity-Cure Acidity at Home

Acidity and heartburn are caused by the  bearing of too much acid in the abdomen that results in the irritation of the mucosa lining the stomach. Irritation results in the pain that is commonly referrred as heartburn type of pain. The excessive acid collected in the stomach reflexes from the stomach and comes out with sour or acidic type of taste in the mouth, especially when the stomach is empty.

Causes of Acidity and Heartburn

Some of the causes of acidity heartburn are illustrated as below:

  • Ingestion of  hot and spicy foods
  • Eating in hurry with proper chewing the food.
  • Lack of sleep or inappropriate sleeping habit
  • Consumption of alcohol
  • Smoking habit
  • Excessive stress
  • Intake of drugs like aspirin, paracetamol, antibiotics
  • During the time of injury to the body.

Avoidence to cure acidity:

  1. Avoid fried  foods, hot and  spicy foods, sour foods, vinegar, pickles and chocolate
  2. Avoid salad or raw intake of certain foods like  onion, cabbage, radish, and peppers
  3. Avoid too much taking of tea and coffee.
  4. Avoid taking of fibreless diet. Take foods with plenty of fibres.
  5. Donot take unripe fruits. But taking of ripen fruits will be benefitial.
  6. Avoid taking of improperly grinded foods.
  7. Donot consume food in hurryl
  8. Avoid Mental stress/ tension.
  9. Avoid staying  on empty stomach.
  10. Take plenty of water at least 8 glasses per day
  11. Avoid taking of alcohol and smoking.
  12. Donot take anything just before going to bed.
  13. Maintaining an standing position for some time after taking food, at least for forty-five minutes will help
  14. Sleep on elevated pillow(6-8 inch elevated)
  15. Practice of yoga(mayurasana and sarvangasana) will be benefitial.

Home Remedy to Cure Acidity:

  1. Bananas helps in the reduction  of acidity and heart burn by its alkaline action. So, eating a banana once a day will help to avoid acidity.
  2. Get a mixture of two teaspoonful of normal apple cider vinegar and two teaspoonful of  honey with a galss of cold and fresh water. This will avoid acidity. This is thewell known remedy in daily life.
  3. Chewing of  basil (tulsi ) leaves helps in relieving acidity and also gives relief from blazing, nausea and gas
  4. Take a small part of  jaggery (gur) in your jaws and  suck it slowly. Repeat this each hourly until acidity lessens. This is also the most popular remediy for acidity.
  5. Taking watermelon, banana or cucumber hourly will be benefitial for acidity.
  6. Consume a couple of almonds as you feel heartburn symptoms. This is also a good and common  Home Remedy for Acidity
  7. Take coconut milk/water four-five times a day.
  8. A glass of milk immediately relieves  acidity and heartburn
  9. Take one piece of Clove(Syzygium aromaticum) and take it gradually.
  10. Take fresh mint juice after food. This remedy is best and common Home Remedies for Acidity
  11. Drinking every day  one teaspoonful  juice of chebulic myrobalan combined with one teaspoonful  of amla (Indian gooseberry) juice. This is another good and common Home Remedy for Acidity.
